Law Roach is back! After announcing his retirement only 2 days ago, the incredible stylist has returned to fashion as a model. On the 15th of March, Law was spotted walking in Hugo Boss’ Runway show in Miami.

This came as a huge shock across the fashion community, including fans and celebrities who work closely with Roach himself.

Due to his vague reasoning in the caption for his retirement, it left lots of confusion in the comments. Supermodel Naomi Campbell was amongst the thousands of comments, saying “Law I won’t let you !!! We don’t quit .. strived to hard” Other musicians, designers, celebrities, and influencers commented supporting Law and sharing their shock and love for the iconic fashion stylist.

Law has styled huge names such as Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Kerry Washington, and Megan thee Stallion. He also styled Priyanka Chopra for British Vogue’s February 2023 cover, his second cover as the West Coast Editor. During his time as a stylist, Law truly did change the red carpets with his eye for fashion, and here are three of my favourite looks by him!

1. Zendaya – 2023 NAACP Awards

Zendaya herself always knows how to make a statement on any red carpet, especially when she has the opportunity to show two rare archive pieces. At the NAACP Image Awards this February in Los Angeles, Zendaya started on the carpet in a silk black and green gown from Versace haute couture spring/summer 2002. This stunning gown had a thigh-high slit, showing black satin Christian Louboutin heels underneath, accessorised with crystal-encrusted Bulgari bracelet and rings.

Her second outfit was a custom white two-piece from Prada spring/summer 1993. Originally bralette and trousers with star cut out detailing, the bottom half was transformed into a maxi-length white skirt with a knee-high slit in the back. Paired with simple leather heels, this re-imagined and modern take on this Prada look was absolutely incredible on Zendaya for the evening.

2. Hunter Schafer – 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Hunter Schafer has recently been regarded as a fashion icon, and Law’s styling at this year’s Oscars has truly solidified this title. Hunter wore a beautiful Ann Demeulemeester fall/winter 2023 look, a white feather shaped bandeau and silk floor-length low-rise skirt. Her blonde hair was styled in mermaid style waves, which truly completed the look.

3. Anna Taylor-Joy – 2021 Critics’ Choice Awards

A personal favourite of mine is Anna Taylor-Joy’s striking royal-purple tulle gown worn for the Critics’ Choice Awards. Her dress was a Dior spring/summer 2020 piece, and was a custom item, taking over 200 hours to complete. The gown was made up of layers of tulle, with the bodice being an incredible zig-zag diamond with handmade macramé detailing. Law paired this ethereal look with Bulgari jewels. This look is a personal favourite as Anna simply looks beautiful in jewel-toned looks, and this purple really made her fair skin and blonde hair pop in the contrast.

As much as the talents of Law Roach will be missed in the styling world, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him on the other end of the fashion world as a model!
